Boss Bitch: 22 Quick-Fixes to Transform Yourself into One

Have you ever wondered how some women do it? How they just seem to have it all? Well, here’s how you can uncover their secret to becoming a boss bitch.

boss bitch

I bet someone *or a couple of people* popped into your mind the second you read the words boss bitch. Maybe Beyoncé or another famous person or maybe other people you see in your everyday life.
What is a boss bitch?
Some of you may not know exactly what this term means—even after mentioning Beyoncé. So for those of you in the dark, I’ll tell you exactly what a boss bitch is.
The term itself misleads because ‘bitch’ often has negative connotations. In this case, it’s a great thing. A boss bitch is someone with immense confidence, power, and dominance. Someone who walks into a room and turns heads by the sheer energy of her strut. She takes control, demands respect, and usually gets exactly what she wants.
Are you ready to become a boss bitch?
Some women are born this way while others take a long time to develop this personality type. If you’re not born with it but looking for a way to take charge in your life, we can help with that aspiration. Here are all the different ways you can be a boss bitch and get your way every time.
#1 Confidence, confidence, confidence. One of the key ingredients to becoming a boss bitch who gets her way every time is confidence. Without it, you’re just going to be another person trying to make life their bitch but failing.
I’m not saying you have to be 100% satisfied with every aspect of your physical appearance, but be confident on both the inside and outside. Know your worth. You’re an important woman with a lot to offer. Be confident about both parts of yourself or fake it until you make it. [Read: How to be a confident, independent woman that everyone loves]
#2 Let your voice be heard. Speak up! If you have an opinion about something, let it be heard. Don’t sit in the back of your staff meetings with your head down and hair flopping in your face shielding yourself from the uproar.
Say something. Let people know you are there! Even if it’s small. If you have a way to make something better or an opinion you’ve been dying to share, let it fly! Just make sure to be respectful while doing so. [Read: 10 subtle body language moves to appear more confident]
#3 Never settle for anything less than you deserve. And this covers EVERYTHING. If your job sucks and makes you miserable, move on. If you’re dating a loser, move on. If your car is a piece of crap, work hard and buy a new one. Never settle for something less than what you deserve. A boss bitch knows what she’s worth and aims for it.
#4 Be independent! Don’t rely on other people for everything. In fact, don’t rely on others for anything. While you still need support every now and again, make it only support and not the entire reason you’re still standing.
Pay for your own things. Take care of your own problems. Be happy on your own—without a man. Do you think a boss bitch relies on someone else to solve her problems? No. [Read: How to be independent even if you’re in a relationship]
#5 Work your a** off. A boss bitch does not take credit for other people’s work. She puts in 100% of her own effort and makes damn sure everyone knows it was her doing. Wake up early and go to bed late and never give anything less than your all.
#6 Support those who deserve it.  A boss bitch doesn’t just build herself up, she also supports those who deserve it. If someone does something incredible and you think they deserve recognition for it, then say something. Build up others and they’ll be there to help build you up, too.
#7 Forget those who don’t. If there are people in your life undeserving of your support, recognition, or praise, forget about them. You don’t become a boss bitch by keeping negative people in your life. Rid yourself of their debilitating attitude so you have room to grow. #8 Praise yourself every single day for your accomplishments. You accomplish something at the end of every day – even on the bad days. In order to be a boss bitch and get your way every time, you have to praise yourself for what you succeed in.
#9 Don’t take sh*t from ANYONE. This tip is pretty straight forward. If someone is trying to bullshit you, is giving you a hard time, or just being negative in general, don’t take it. Respectfully tell them off and make sure they’re aware that their comments have done nothing to your self-worth. In fact, tell them that their criticism only makes you want to push harder. #10 Be happy with what you have but always strive for better. You don’t have to be a millionaire or have the latest and greatest in the fashion world. But you need to be happy with what you have, recognizing you should always push for better. Never let having the best become your life mission, though.
#11 Never put others down. Don’t be the immature person who always puts people down. Not only is it useless in helping you become a boss bitch, but it actually makes you look weaker and less confident.
#12 Be real. Don’t be fake with people. If you don’t like someone, be respectful, but don’t act like best friends. Don’t try to be something you’re not. Just be real with everything you do and you’ll become a boss bitch. [Read: 20 signs you’re a people pleaser and don’t realize it]
#13 Offer to tackle big projects and obstacles. A boss bitch handles anything. While the rest of your coworkers moan and groan about who is going to take this next pain-in-the-a** project, offer to take it and watch the way people start looking at you differently—like you’re in charge.
#14 Respect yourself and your body. In order to be a boss bitch, demand respect. The only way to get this is to respect yourself and your body. Don’t flaunt your bits for the world to see and don’t give it up to whomever just happens to be of interest to you that night.
#15 Don’t try and fit into societal norms. In today’s society, it’s all about women being married and having kids by a certain age. If you don’t want a man, then don’t have one. If you don’t want kids, then don’t have them. Do NOT change yourself to fit into what society says equals a proper woman. [Read: Ladies: Here are the 17 benefits of being single]
#16 Be emotionally strong. A boss bitch keeps even her wildest emotions in check. Now, this doesn’t mean you become an emotionless tyrant. This just means if you’re having a bad day, don’t make it known to everyone else.
#17 Never tell someone just what they want to hear. If someone asks for your personal opinion, then give it to them. Whether they’ll like what you have to say or not. Being honest not only gains respect from other people, but you help someone else by not aiding in their self-pity.
#18 Look people in the eye. Respect and confidence make a boss bitch. Eye contact is just one way that increases both of those. If you look people in the eye when speaking to them, it also forces them to listen to what you have to say—further driving your boss bitch attitude. #19 Don’t apologize for being yourself. You are who you are. Never apologize for what you like, what you say, and how you act. In order to be a boss bitch who gets what she wants, you’ll need to follow through with who you are as a person, or you’ll just seem fake.
#20 Be YOUR boss, not everyone else’s. The most important thing you do in order to become a boss bitch is recognizing you’re YOUR boss and don’t try to be everyone else’s. That only makes for a control freak that is demanding and nobody will like that—at all. [Read: Don’t stay stuck: 16 strategies to get your shit together]
