The worst feeling you can possibly have is being sexually frustrated and unable to do anything about it. Here’s how to bypass this rough situation.
Let me tell you something, people have needs! Food, water, shelter, and sexual pleasure. It’s embedded into our DNA to have sex and love it. That being said, there are certain times when we aren’t able to get the release we need, and we end up being sexually frustrated.
This is a fairly common feeling, but that doesn’t mean that it’s very pleasant. However, there are tons and tons of people living with this feeling on a daily basis and are hardly doing anything about it.
Why we need sex!
Sex is simply a part of being a human being. We need it in order to reproduce and continue our species. And we also need it to keep us sane. I credit most of my sanity to having regular sex and never going too long without it.
But it’s not just that. Sex is healthy, too. It boosts our immune system, reduces stress, and even increases our self-esteem. If you’re someone who has sex regularly, then you can really feel the adverse affects when you have to go through a dry spell.
Signs that you’re sexually frustrated
You may think that it would be easy to tell if you’re sexually frustrated, but that just isn’t always the case. The truth is that you could just feel off and never realize that it’s because you need to get laid. These are all the different ways you’ll be able to tell if you’re sexually frustrated.
#1 You can’t sleep well. When people are sexually frustrated, it can negatively affect their sleep patterns. You’d think that since you’re not distracted by the thoughts of someone else’s body grinding on yours that you’d actually get some sleep, but that’s not true.
The fact is that when you’re sexually frustrated, you’re not having sex as much as you might be used to, and your body has more energy. This can affect your sleep cycle, causing you to lie awake at night wondering why you just can’t sleep.
#2 You’re antsy and have too much energy. When you’re sexually frustrated, you have lots of extra energy because you’re not spending it going to town on someone else. This leaves you feeling wound up and antsy, sort of like you’ve had way too much coffee. If you feel like this, yet you haven’t had any caffeine, you could be sexually frustrated. #3 You may not even feel interested in sex. This might seem like a strange sign that you’re sexually frustrated, but the stress that this feeling can put on your body can actually cause you to be uninterested in sex, at least for the time being. Once you get your groove back on and reap the self-esteem-boosting benefits of a good old-fashioned romp in the sheets, you’ll likely notice that your libido kicks back in. #4 You don’t really masturbate. Along with not feeling interested in having sex, you might not even feel like taking matters into your own hands, either. #5 You’re more on edge. If you’re sexually frustrated, then you’re more than likely going to be in a cranky mood and will get annoyed really easily. Even the littlest things will set you off without warning.
You could be minding your own business and then all of a sudden, the repeated clicking of a pen will make you blow up on a coworker for no good reason. That’s a sign that you’re sexually frustrated.
#6 Nothing you’ve done can put you in a good mood. Of course, this is assuming that you haven’t tried getting laid or getting yourself off. But if you’ve tried everything else and you just can’t get in a better mood, then you could possibly be sexually frustrated.
When someone is sexually frustrated, it’s not like they can watch a funny movie and be cheered up. Only that sexual release can change their mood.
#7 You’re turned on ridiculously easily. As in, you’re basically an adult in a 13-year-old boy’s body. When you don’t even have to look at a person to get that knee-quivering feeling, then you’re probably sexually frustrated and need to get laid ASAP. #8 You think about all of your exes. When you’re sexually frustrated, you basically cling to everything you once knew on a sexual level. So if you’re thinking about your exes a whole lot and haven’t had sex with someone in some time, you’re probably sexually frustrated.
Just take our advice and be wary of texting every ex whose number you still have in your phone. This probably isn’t the best way to deal with sexual frustration. [Read: Should you text your ex? The guide to help you decide]
#9 You’re stress eating and drinking. Being sexually frustrated can definitely make you more stressed, even if you don’t realize it. This could lead to stress-reducing habits like eating a lot of junk food or drinking too much alcohol.
If you’ve been stressed and turning to food and booze, then my best guess is that you’re sexually frustrated and need some tail.
#10 You can’t stop watching romance movies and wishing you were the main characters getting it on. Okay, so maybe this is just something that I experience. But when you get sexually frustrated, you’re probably going to be seeing signs of other people having sex everywhere you look, wishing you were in on the fun.
